Okay peeps.
This may be the only picspam I do, but hopefully not, so enjoy. This is absolutely my fav series in the whole world so far. Also, it took forever so don't expect one for every drama I review. Plus, this isn't the entire synopsis so if you want to read about it, go to www.wiki.d-addicts.com and search it up.
The events/captions are parts of the storyline and they are in chronological order, but it's not everything and the if you watch it, the pictures don't always correspond with the captions. They just work well for my purpose. Be entertained.

This is our hero, Guo Jing. His father died when he was a baby and his mother raised him alone on the Grasslands of Mongolia, where he grew up big and strong and rather dumb on the goat milk.
Sometimes he shoots eagles from dramatic angles:
Guo Jing leaves the Grasslands when he turns 18 in order to seek out his sworn brother, Yang Kang, the son of his father's best friend. Back when they were fatherless tots some crazy people decided they would grow up one day and have a duel to see whose Martial Arts is better. This is Yang Kang:
While on the road, Guo Jing meets Huang Rong, the 16 year old daughter of a famous Hermit, who ran away from home and is disguised as a little beggar boy. Huang Rong is the polar opposite of GJ: clever, witty, graceful, beautiful. Because GJ is dumb he cannot tell she is a girl. Between the two of them, they have one brain.
Eventually HR decides to reveal her true self to GJ. Needless to say, GJ is instantly smitten, and for some reason, HR feels the same way. Possibly because he bought her cakes and crushed them in his pocket and was all adorably embarrassed about it.
GJ and HR have many, many adventures together. They raid palaces, kill Jin soldiers, learn kung fu from a gluttonous beggar, get poisoned, drink snake blood, etc. It's all very scintillating and fun.
Guo Jing gets into trouble a lot.
Thank god he has HR. Otherwise I think he'd have been dead by chapter 3.
They meet Mu Nian Ci, the adopted daughter of Yang Kang's father, Yang Tie Xin, who survived and has been living in hiding for the past twenty years.
Yang Tie Xin, played by... YANG PAPA!! This is where it gets a little complex. Yang TieXin was married to Bao XiRou, whose beauty attracted the Prince of Jin, leading him to plot the murders of Yang and Guo (Yang Kang and Guo Jing's fathers). Bao XiRou married the Jin Prince and raised Yang Kang as his son.
Yang Kang gets involved with Mu Nian Ci after he rudely interrupts her "Joust for a Spouse" event, where she challenges oncomers in a fight and whoever defeats her gets to marry her. I think this kind of thing can only go well if you look like Liu Shi Shi. Even so, I am skeptical.
Mu Nian Ci inexplicably falls for Yang Kang after he flirts with her onstage in the middle of their fight, and tries to walk away with her shoe and not marry her, which is dishonouring her. Girls always fall for the bad boys.
But they fall in love anyway, and run away together after Yang Kang discovers his true identity and has a quartlife crisis. He becomes increasingly bitter and evil as time goes on. I mean, look at how evil he is! His fingers curl of their own sinister accord!
HR tries to cheer up Mu Nian Ci over the whole OTP being evil thing:
"Really, it's not that bad! He has brain cells!"
Meanwhile Guo Jing tries to make friends with YK the same way he won over HR: cakes.
Rejected. Sadly I think this move only works on girls:
LOCH has a very complex, intricate plot. It is very difficult to explain in detail, but I assure you that it is very, very good. However, I know what everyone REALLY cares about is...
OTP INTERLOPERS!!
GJ and HR can sense angst on the horizon.

Although GJ has pledged himself to HR, he has conveniently forgotten that he is, in fact, engaged to Hua Zheng, a mongolian princess who he grew up with on the grasslands.
This is what will happen if he chooses Huang Rong:
This is what will happen if he chooses Mongol princess:
This is far too difficult a decision for his brain to handle:
He thinks about how wonderful it could be...
Huang Rong doesn't think so.
Not to mention this guy. He is called OuYang Ke and he wanders around with a harem of "disciples" who are also his concubines. They help him kidnap girls who then are forced to join their ranks. He's got his sights set on HR throughout the novel.
He's cool with Mu Nian Ci, too. Anybody, really.
Huang Rong and Nian Ci: not impressed.
Let's just say the boys aren't pleased. Especially Yang Kang:
Cue a number of fantastic chapters where Guo Jing and OuYang Ke travel to Peach Blossom Island, Huang Rong's home. They compete for HR's hand in marriage, and GJ miraculously wins. But then everything is ruined by some crazy old beggars who HR's dad doesn't like.
GJ angsts about the situation:
Eventually, and heartbreakingly, GJ decides to do the noble thing and marry Hua Zheng because he promised her first. HR is sad but accepts this, and they promise each other that although they will marry other people, they'll always love each other most.
GJ without HR: note haggardness, and iminent manpain.
Yang Kang chips in with his share of the manpain:
Guo Jing is up to the challenge:
Yang Kang valiantly angsts in jail:
Guo Jing is not to be outdone, though:
Life sucks for everybody. Except OuYang Ke, apparently:
HR thinks about the giant Eagles GJ gave her:
"Sigh!"
